Adaptation Plan Workshop

Friday 27th November, 10am - 12pm

TBC (Paisley)

Hosted by RenCAN, and in partnership with Renfrewshire Council, we invite you to contribute your views on how Renfrewshire can prepare for a changing climate. Renfrewshire Council is consulting to gather your feedback on the proposed actions within the Climate Adaptation Plan and identify any additional opportunities to strengthen resilience across Renfrewshire.

Climate change is already affecting Renfrewshire, with increasing risks from flooding, extreme weather, heat stress, and other climate-related impacts. These risks have the potential to affect our communities, buildings, infrastructure, local economy, public services, and natural environment.

This Climate Adaptation Plan sets out clear actions to help Renfrewshire prepare for and respond to these challenges. It builds on existing strategies and plans and outlines how we will protect our communities, infrastructure, local economy, and natural environment from the effects of a changing climate.

While the plan has been informed by evidence, risk assessments, and existing local and national policies, it is important that it also reflects the experiences, priorities, and concerns of the people who live, work, and study in Renfrewshire.

We are consulting to gather feedback on the proposed actions within the plan, understand whether we have identified the right priorities, and identify any additional opportunities to strengthen resilience across Renfrewshire. Your views will help us shape the final Climate Adaptation Plan and ensure it supports communities to adapt to a changing climate while protecting those most vulnerable to its impacts.

Thank you again for helping to support this consultation. This workshop will bring a lot of value to this stage of the Plan development.

Please note that the venue (in Paisley) has still to be confirmed and we will update you as soon as possible.
