Community Food
Increasing community-grown food is a powerful way to challenge climate change while empowering people. Our team is focused on strengthening local food systems in Renfrewshire and building connections needed to support them. We are committed to a vision of a more resilient and self-sufficient region, where communities are empowered to grow, share, and access sustainable, nutrient-rich food from seed to seed.
Through this initiative, we aim to connect producers, growers, seed libraries, community groups, and food distribution projects to build stronger networks across Renfrewshire. By working together, we can be more resilient and start a food revolution that builds on existing knowledge, upskills communities, and brings people together. This creates an opportunity to develop a closed-loop system in our region, from food growing and distribution to growing seed adapted to the local climate, supporting self-reliant communities in ways that honour both people and planet and deliver a fairer food system for all.
